Deadline has reported that the Matt Reeves film The Batman will be released on June 25, 2021. But possibly eclipsing that news is the fact that Ben Affleck will no longer portray the iconic superhero.

This iteration of the Caped Crusader’s story will focus on a younger Bruce Wayne. So the role of the Dark Knight is currently vacant, and the search for a new Batman is on.

Affleck tweeted out excitement and support for the upcoming film yesterday.

Written and directed by Reeves, The Batman will be produced by Reeves and Dylan Clark.
