The McElroy Family, best known for their hit podcasts My Brother, My Brother and Me and The Adventure Zone, have made an announcement about an incredibly exciting collaboration with Marvel Comics.

War of the Realms is a huge Marvel Comics event coming in April 2019, something that Jason Aaron‘s Thor run has been building up to for six years now. War of the Realms: Journey Into Mystery is the first tie-in mini-series that has been announced for this epic crossover event.

The McElroy family consists of brothers Justin, Travis, and Griffin and their father Clint, and they will be responsible for writing the five-issue limited series. Those that are familiar with the family’s podcast The Adventure Zone can vouch for their fun and compelling storytelling abilities. This is not the McElroy’s first experience with comic books, as they also have an ongoing series of graphic novels to accompany the first Adventure Zone campaign, “Balance” (The Adventure Zone: Here There Be Gerblins, The Adventure Zone: Murder On The Rockport Limited).

War of the Realms: Journey Into Mystery will be drawn by André Lima Araújo (Spidey, Black Panther), with covers by Valerio Schiti (Tony Stark: Iron Man).

The summary for the series is as follows,

War of the Realms: Journey Into Mystery takes you to a world where Earth is at war, besieged by an army of Frost Giants, Trolls and Fire Goblins — and the mighty Thor is nowhere to be found. When it turns out that the key to stopping the war might be Thor’s baby sister, Spider-Man (Miles Morales), Hawkeye (Kate Bishop), Wonder Man, Sebastian Druid, Death Locket, Thori the Hellhound, and Balder the Brave must go on an epic quest to save Earth’s only hope! (And, yes, deal with diaper duty.)

War of the Realms: Journey into Mystery will be available online and in comic book stores beginning April 10.
