‘Riverdale’ Wins Drama Show of 2018

The E! Network’s People’s Choice Awards aired on Sunday, November 11, and many of our favorite shows and stars were given well-deserved awards. Voting for the awards opened on September 24, allowing fans could cast their votes online in all categories. Also, the number of votes each person could submit was unlimited, prompting eager fans to tweet out to the rest of their fandoms to vote over and over for their faves.

The CW‘s Riverdale won the award for “Drama Show of 2018,” beating out NBC‘s massive hit This is Us and Hulu‘s critically acclaimed The Handmaid’s Tale. Fans of Riverdale, a show that is loosely based on the Archie comics, were diligent and secured the show a win.

K.J. Apa, who plays “Archie” on the series, was nominated for “Drama TV Star of 2018” but lost out to Mariska Hargitay of Law & Order: Special Victims UnitCamila Mendes and Cole Sprouse were up for Male and Female TV Star of 2018, respectively, but they lost to Katherine McNamara and Harry Shum, Jr. of Shadowhunters: The Moral Instruments.
