Written by Tina Fey, Mean Girls tells the story of a teenage girl beginning at a high school in suburban Chicago after being home-schooled by her zoologist parents in Africa up until then.

Mean Girls has become a cult classic phenomenon in the 14 years since it’s release. So much so, that October 3 has been dubbed “Mean Girls Day.” This stems from a scene in the movie when Aaron Samuels asks Cady Herron the date, and she responds, “It’s October third.”

This day is marked by several events, including a free Broadway performance of “Mean Girls: The Musical in New York City.”
