It was just announced that Tyler Hoechlin will be returning to the Arrowverse as Superman during CW’s big crossover event in December! Hoechlin made his Superman debut during the second season of Supergirl.  He only made a few more appearances within that season, so this will be his first return since the Season 2 finale “Nevertheless, She Persisted.” He will appear in all three episodes of the crossover, starting on Sunday, December 9 at 8/7c with The Flash.

Joining Superman for the first time will be Lois Lane, another first in CW’s Arrowverse. While they have had Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan), there have only been a few mentions of her sister Lois so far. No news so far on who will be cast as The Daily Planet reporter and longtime love interest of Superman.

News of Superman’s return and Lois Lane’s debut follows CW’s announcement that Ruby Rose will be joining the three-night crossover event as Batwoman.
