First Trailer for Fantastic Beasts 2 is Here!

The first full trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Crimes of Grindelwald was released today and there is a lot for fans to unpack.

In this second of five installments of the Fantastic Beasts franchise, we see many familiar faces including Eddie Redmayne as magizooligist Newt Scamander, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein and Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein.

The trailer also gives the first real look at Jude Law as young Albus Dumbledore as he reminisces about teaching Newt at Hogwarts. Fans will be delighted for a return to the familiar castle, if only for a few scenes. Interestingly, we see Dumbledore encouraging Newt to stand against Gillert Grindelwald (played by Johnny Depp) in the final moments of the trailer. Fans already know that Dumbledore himself was hesitant to fight Grindelwald as reference in ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’. We also get only a brief glimpse of the dark wizard himself.

Not much has been revealed about the overall plot of the film, but there may be some light shed on the mysterious backstory of Newt and Leta Lestrange as well as that of Dumbledore and Grindelwald.

Check out the trailer below, and the film is due to release in the US November 16th.
