‘Famous in Love’ Leaves Us Needing a Second Season

Freeform has been building up it’s newest show, Famous in Love for a while now and on April 18, the show premiered on Freeform. All ten episodes of the show were then released onto Freeform and Hulu.

The show is based off of the novel by Rebecca Searle, and the show was developed by Searle and Pretty Little Liars show runner I. Marlene King. Starring Bella Thorne, Carter Jenkins, Charlie DePew, Georgie Flores, Niki Koss, and Keith T. Powers, the show revolves around Paige Townsen, who is living in Los Angeles with her two best friends, Cassandra “Cassie” and Jake.

Cassie drags Paige to an open audition for a film called “Locked” in which Rainer Devon, a popular actor, is starring. Paige gets a callback and the show revolves around how her life is changed, as well as the lives around her.

The cast in this show is great. Bella Thorne plays the role of Paige well; it’s believable that she’s a young college student who gets thrust into a world that’s completely different from what she’s known. She’s endearing, and really makes you like Paige and the journey she takes you on with the character. My favorite character would have to be Rainer; it seemed at the beginning he was just set up to be Hollywood’s “bad boy” but you soon see that there’s so much more to him. Carter Jenkins plays Rainer in such a way that you can’t help but root for his character.

Charlie DePew and Georgie Flores are great as Jake and Cassandra, and the two have great chemistry with Bella. Keith Powers is great as Jordan, as well as Pepi Sonuga as Tangey. I can’t stress enough just how well this show is cast and that really enhances the story telling.

I found myself watching the first episode and liking it, but by the third episode I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. The story keeps audiences entertained, with the question of if Paige will choose Jake or Rainer. (I won’t spoil what happens – you’ll have to watch it!) The show is great in drawing audiences in and making them want to see more. By the end of the last episode, I was left feeling that this show had to come back for a second season, and that there’s still so much to explore with these characters.

This is one of Freeform‘s best shows and it deserves a second season.

You can catch all 10 episodes of Famous in Love on Freeform or on Hulu!
