Endure 4 Kindness 2017 is April 1-2!

Are you looking for ways to help your community in small ways? Need that extra push to finally get yourself active this Spring? Then consider the charity event hosted by Random Acts this weekend, (April 1st through 2nd) E4K, or Endure 4 Kindness.

Anyone who has been in the periphery of the Supernatural fandom should know about Random Acts; but just in case, here’s a refresher. Random Acts is the charitable organization founded by actor Misha Collins. After noticing the incredible support from fans in raising charitable funds, he founded Random Acts in 2010 as a way to direct that energy and support.

That first year began what would eventually morph into Endure 4 Kindness, with Misha running over 50 miles and raising an estimated $94,700.

But he didn’t stop there. He continued raising funds through Hope 2 Haiti, the Annual Melee of Kindness (AMOK), Dreams 2 Acts, and so many other activities, events, partnerships, and programs.

But where was I? Oh yes, E4K! Misha even adopted the persona of Coach Sergei in 2014 to help drum up interest in the annual event. While Sergei is currently in hiding, E4K has grown in scope over the years and includes more than just running in order to raise money. Since he opened it up to public participation in 2012, people have gotten creative over the years, to include other activities such as kayaking, litter pick up, knitting/crocheting projects, food drives, and even kazooing!

Yes, you heard me right. Last year, one participant decided on a kazoo marathon in order to raise funds, with donators choosing songs to perform. She livestreamed the whole thing.

After raising over $3000 for last year’s event, this year she’s doing it again!

But beyond that, we have participants who are baking, making cards of kindness, bedazzling, sewing, knitting & crocheting, various other crafts and activities! I mean, someone’s reading the Aenid in a toga, in public. Also, donate here for a chance to win a keychain modeled after Coach Sergei.

Want to participate? It’s easy to sign up or donate directly on the CrowdRise site, and all of the raised funds go directly to Random Acts. We suggest finding and donating to participants who are near the bottom of the list, so they’ll feel more encouraged to participate!

  1. Thanks for linking to my E4K project! (sneaky, sneaky) My Morse Code bracelets were a real hit last year, so I’m making more this year. The message for 2017 is “you are not alone”, which echoes a fundraising campaign Misha and Jensen ran last year. Every donor will get a bracelet!
